WHAT WE DO
We seek to produce wines with energy, freshness, and distinction from organic, regenerative, and biodynamic vineyards across Oregon and Washington. We focus on grapes of Spanish/ Iberian origin (Albariño, Tempranillo, Mencia, Garnacha) to highlight their great potential in the Pacific Northwest AVAs.
From the vineyards to the cellar, our efforts are constantly focused on putting something delicious on the table. Wine is a wonderful expression of our relationship with nature - vine, sunlight, soil, water, people, time - and we aim to capture that connection in each bottle.
Mendivia was started by Colin and Holly Howard to celebrate our favorite Spanish varietals from some of Oregon and Washington’s emerging AVAs (American Viticultural Area). We source our grapes from the Willamette Valley, Columbia Gorge (OR and WA) and the Rogue Valley.
THE NAME
Pronounced "men-dee-via", the name comes from the Basque side of Colin’s Spanish lineage and is a way of paying tribute to our family for all their encouragement to explore our excitement for winemaking.
